Wines
Our vision is to make world-class artisan wines from renowned California vineyards. We have a deep respect, passion and love for the Napa and Sonoma Valleys and are grateful to work with the wonderful people that make up this amazing wine community.
Promise Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine immediately commands attention with its mirror-black concentration and interlacing aromas of cassis, graphite, dark plum, cedar, crushed violets, and warm spice. The palate is luxurious and finely textured, revealing flavors of blackberry compote, macerated black cherry, and cassis. Ripe black fruits surge forward on the mid-palate and then finish with notes of dark cacao and sweet cherry tobacco, delivering immense strength and also grace.
Made from our best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, this wine can age 15 years or more if cellared properly—though it is also remarkably expressive and complete in its youth. With a generous decant, it is a powerful and satisfying wine to enjoy now.
Aged 30 months in 100% new French oak. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.

'the gratitude'

This Bordeaux-style blend comes to life in the glass with a deep crimson hue, expressive aromas and an energetic, generous palate. Each varietal contributes something unique: Cabernet Sauvignon brings blackcurrant and cedar; Merlot adds a core of vibrant plum and softness; Cabernet Franc lifts the bouquet with red currant, dried herbs, and florals; Malbec imparts subtle blueberry and cocoa; while Petit Verdot bestows inky color, violet, and dark spice.
All together this broad and confident blend is deeply satisfying—a layered wine you could smell and taste for hours.
With patience, you could age this wine for up to 10 years, though we're going to drink ours now!
Aged for 30 months in 90% new French oak. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.

'the love' Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir has been a pillar of the Promise portfolio for over 12 years and is continually sourced from the same great rows of the Bucher Ranch in the Russian River Valley. The color is always staring back at you with its deep ruby hue suggesting richness from the start. The nose is fresh, intense, and brooding, offering up aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, plums, and hints of dried herbs, forest floor, with a touch of earthiness. There is 15% whole cluster in the making and 50% new Francois Frères tight grain oak barrels, toasted to a perfect medium plus. Flavors are densely focused with dried cranberry, strawberry preserves, a touch of pipe tobacco and a hint of dancing chocolate savory that carries out the long finish. Made from love, with love, so drink the LOVE!
Enjoy now and for the next 15 years. Aged in 50% new French Oak, native yeast and malolactic, always unfiltered and unfined. 275 cases produced.

'the joy' Rosé of Pinot Noir

Always the crowd pleaser, this wine needs no introduction. Our rosé represents a delicate and nuanced bouquet, with aromas of strawberry and cherry beaming from the glass. On the palate, this gorgeous salmon-hued wine reveals its lively and graceful character, with ballerina-like acidity dancing with vibrant freshness and energy. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing, with a soft, clean finish that lingers ever so gently. A wine that drinks happily all year round...there is a reason why we named this wine ‘the joy’.
Farmed and harvested as an intentional Rosé. It is whole cluster pressed, cold settled, fermented entirely in stainless steel, and then in neutral oak aged for 6 months. 300 cases produced.

Our Winemaking Philosophy
We believe that meticulous farming and cultivation are essential to great winemaking. An overwhelming attention to detail is applied at every step of a vine’s life and throughout every growing season from beginning to end. Once the fruit is harvested, every element is afforded great care: selection, yeasts, crush, maturation, and cooperage, all of which are overseen with great passion. Our style of winemaking looks to find the greatest expressions of each varietal and vineyard. Special focus is given to deliver a perfect blending of balance, complexity and depth. Kirk Venge, a Napa native prodigy, has been the winemaker since 2014.
